PROFESSIONAL LIABILITY DEFENSE (MEDICAL)

For over twenty-five years, Christie & Young PC has engaged in the defense of medical malpractice and related professional liability claims, having tried hundreds of cases and managed thousands of such matters to successful conclusions.

Our medical malpractice defense team represents major academic medical centers and significant emergency management facilities, community hospitals, and managed care facilities throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey.  The firm also represents health professionals who provide clinical care and ancillary services as well as individual physicians and their support staff, both directly and through their professional liability insurers.  Within our medical malpractice defense group, six senior attorneys have tried a myriad of medical malpractice cases to successful conclusion both for new and longstanding firm clients.

Typically, the firm staffs the defense of a medical malpractice case with two attorneys and a paralegal.  At the same time, our depth of experienced professionals permits us to adjust our staffing to the circumstances presented by any given case to address any emergent issues that may arise.  The firm has access to a full range of experts necessary to the defense of such claims and has fully litigated claims in all medical specialties, from family practice through various surgical disciplines such as radiology, electrophysiology and emergency medicine.  Our medical malpractice team also handles various aspects of the defense of managed care facilities, including care in rehabilitation centers arising from falls, bed sores and other common complaints.

Collectively, our attorneys have well in excess of 100 years’ experience in the defense of medical malpractice cases in what is reputed to be one of the most difficult jurisdictions in the United States (Philadelphia) and throughout the surrounding states and counties.  Health care professionals and their insurers regularly rely on us to achieve successful resolutions.
